Taxi Stand

36x24 inches . . . . . acrylic on canvas, 2023

Driving in San Francisco with my 35mm Nikon on my lap, I saw this early morning scene. The sunlight and shadows, the string of waiting taxi cabs, the glass globes of the streetlights, the woman’s posture, and the unseen driver with the open window all went together to make me want to know the story, or at least paint it.
